Highlights:

You excel at reducing the risk of cyber threats to the entire enterprise business. As the Cyber Security Engineer, you serve as the technical lead for the IT Security Assurance team. You leverage a solid understanding of cybersecurity threats facing the organization and implement proactive, efficient and accurate countermeasures. You continually improve the overall security of our systems by identifying security deficiencies and emerging risks for IT and IT security controls.

You maximize cybersecurity initiatives through collaboration with internal and external groups within IT and business stakeholders across the organization. You ensure compliance with a variety of regulatory monitoring requirements using detailed technical guidance and expertise. You flourish in an office environment providing a secure client experience and travel as needed to achieve company objectives. You report to the Manager of Network Engineering for goals, guidance and assistance.

What you will do:
  • Promote company-wide excellence through active and consistent support of all internal efforts to simplify and enhance the client experience.
  • Drive the awareness and adoption of sound cybersecurity practices by analyzing, interpreting, and presenting complex security requirements to executive and IT management, IT teams, peers and non-technical team members.
  • Develop detailed technical process workflows to maintain continuous security monitoring of all IT systems.
  • Ensure compliance with Payment Card Industry (PCI), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) requirements by conducting in-depth testing for business defined controls of IT applications.
  • Enhance the overall security posture within the system by configuring remedies based on control testing.
  • Support internal IT Security's continuous monitoring program by developing automation capabilities, including automated scripts and reporting.
  • Provide technical guidance and support for a variety of regulatory compliance requirements to ensure sound security controls within the corporate ecosystem.
  • Optimize continuous improvement initiatives through the development and presentation of root cause and trending analysis reports to senior leadership, IT Security and key stakeholders.
  • Implement new business applications and upgrade existing ones by liaising with IT Operational teams to gain an understanding of operational requirements and aligning them with IT Security, Regulatory and Compliance standards.
  • Mitigate security risks by partnering with technical business stakeholders to ensure continuous security monitoring and develop and publish security assurance metrics.
  • Organize project and communication plans to provide updates to the IT Security, Compliance and IT Operations teams.
  • Recommend process improvements to business partners by interpreting, analyzing and maintaining IT Security standards, guidelines and regulations.
  • Effectively assess and evaluate security controls and continuous monitoring of existing systems using an expert level of current cybersecurity threats.
  • Research and present on emerging risks and threats and establish a sound strategy of countermeasures for senior leadership and key stakeholders to review.
  • Remedy issues through collaboration with leadership, team members and other boundary partners.
  • Perform additional duties related to the position as assigned.

Required keys for success:
  • Two or more years of information assurance, risk and cybersecurity program governance experience.
  • Four or more years of experience in IT security or corporate risk.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks, such as Payment Card Industry (PCI), SOX, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), NIST 800-53, cybersecurity or other federal, state and industry areas of compliance.
  • Skilled in security system configuration, file integrity monitoring processes, firewall review processes and data loss prevention.
  • Intermediate knowledge of operating systems, internet protocol (IP) networks and database and application functionality.
  • Familiar with application layers, networking and system administration in order to interpret data.
  • History of presenting technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking skills that can identify patterns or indicators of non-compliance.
  • Ability to build a solid relationship with senior leadership, IT teams and peers while leading an effective and efficient compliance program.
  • Organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects while ensuring deadlines.
  • Effective written and spoken English communication skills across all levels of an organization.

How you will stand out from the crowd:
  • In-depth knowledge of firewall, intrusion prevention systems and router engineering.
  • Versed in security information and event management (SIEM) and log management tools.
  • Expert in network and system security vulnerabilities and exploits.
  • Advanced knowledge in network security design, transmission control protocol/internet protocol (TCP/IP) protocols and topology and network security architecture.
  • Issue resolution and process orientation skills.

Your education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in cybersecurity, information systems, computer science or a business-related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience (required).
  • Certified information systems security professional (CISSP), Certified information security technologist (CISM), Certified information systems auditor (CISA), Python 2.0 or 3.0 certification, PowerShell certification, SQL certification, Tableau data visualization certification or Microsoft Excel certification (preferred).
