Description: The Business Services Coordinator performs a variety of business, fiscal, and administrative functions to address the business needs of the Computational Data Science Engineering Department. Work involves a variety of functional activities. Work involves the supervision of others. The position works closely with the department chair, faculty, students, and department stakeholders (potential student employers). The position serves as a key resource by researching, anticipating, and preparing needed communications, and managing department budgets.Primary Function of Organizational Unit: North Carolina A & T State University is a public land grant high research activity institution that is committed to dedicated teaching and learning, scholarly and creative research, and effective engagement and public service. The University enrolls approximately 13,487students.The College of Engineering, with over 2,402 students, has EAC ABET accredited undergraduate programs in Architectural, Bio-, Biological, Civil, Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Industrial, and Mechanical Engineering, as well as a CAC ABET -accredited program in Computer Science. At the Graduate level, the College has 8 Master’s of Science Degree programs, and 5 Doctoral programs.The Department of Computational Data Science and Engineering ( CDSE ) is an interdisciplinary Department that offers graduate programs at the MS and PhD levels. CDSE computational approaches in data sciences, scalable computing and numerical methods, and modeling and simulations are crucial to the advancement of all fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Its mission is to graduate professionals who (a) have expertise in developing novel computational methodologies and products, and/or (b) have extended their expertise in specific disciplines (in science, technology, engineering, socioeconomics, etc.) with computational tools. The CDSE curriculum and research are organized around a core consisting of three areas: (a) Data Sciences (DS); (b) Computational and Numerical Approaches; and c) Modeling and Simulation Approaches; as well as (d) challenging interdisciplinary systems (e.g. large and complex, multi-scale, multi-physics, hybrid and heterogeneous systems).
