Description We are offering an exciting opportunity in Greensboro, North Carolina for a Collections Specialist. This role is within the telecom provider industry and involves working with members to determine the root causes for delinquency, negotiate payment arrangements, and initiate the foreclosure or repossession process when necessary. This is a short term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Contact delinquent members to attempt to bring their accounts up to date. Determine the root causes for account delinquency and negotiate payment arrangements. Process authorized Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments and ensure timely mailing of required notices. Proactively assist members in curing their default by assessing their needs, educating them on their options, and recommending the most appropriate course of action. Initiate the foreclosure or repossession process when a satisfactory arrangement cannot be made. Collaborate with the Loss Mitigation Department to mitigate losses by identifying potential repossessions in advance. Be accountable for deficiency balance recovery efforts. Support and model the organization's core values and promote a positive work culture. Monitor customer credit accounts and take appropriate action to collect delinquent payments. Process customer credit applications accurately and maintain accurate customer credit records. Requirements Proven experience in the field of collections is essential. Proficiency in managing consumer loans is required. Strong negotiation and persuasion skills to ensure the return of funds. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism at all times. Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members effectively. Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to collections practices. Proficiency in the use of collections software and databases. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Excellent analytical skills for understanding financial documents and consumer credit records. Strong problem-solving skills to address customer issues and concerns. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. High level of attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word. Willingness to continue learning and improving skills in a changing industry.
