Description: Surveillance Systems Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of NCAT’s video surveillance systems. The position purpose includes:Installation: Deploying and setting up video surveillance hardware such as cameras, recording devices, and networking equipment.Configuration: Configuring the VMS software to ensure proper functionality, including setting up user permissions, camera settings, and storage parameters.Maintenance: Regularly maintaining and updating the VMS to ensure optimal performance and security, which may involve software updates, hardware repairs, and system optimizations.Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving technical issues with the VMS , including diagnosing problems with cameras, network connectivity, software errors, and storage issues.Training: Providing training and support to end-users and staff members on how to use the VMS client software effectively and efficiently.Security: Ensuring that the video surveillance system complies with privacy regulations and security standards, including implementing encryption, access controls, and audit trails.Primary Function of Organizational Unit: The Mission of the Aggie OneCard office is to provide ID card services through the multifunctional Aggie OneCard to the students, faculty, and staff of NC A&T State University.In addition, the Aggie OneCard Services will serve to promote, enhance, and encourage the use of the OneCard in the Greensboro area in a manner to support and benefit the University and local communities.The office will strive to educate cardholders about services and options available via the OneCard and assist students in configuring their cards to satisfy their individual needs.The Aggie OneCard Office will also serve students as a resource for general university information.Internal job number: 007591Requirements:Associate’s degree in Electronics, Networking, or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.Preferred: 4 years managing video surveillance systems or similar on-prem systems.Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting IP and analog security camera equipment from Axis, Sony and other brands.Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools, such as Wireshark, Nagios, and SolarWinds.Solid understanding of network security concepts and protocols, including TCP /IP, VPNs, and encryption technologies.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and interact professionally with clients.A thorough understanding of network cabling standards.Job Closing Date: 12/23/2024
