Experis IT is currently seeking a DevOps Engineer with experience supporting SaaS in an Azure cloud environment. This is a

Contract-to-Hire opportunity located in Morrisville, NC. This is that will be

remote plus on-site position that will require going onsite. Candidates wishing to be considered will need to be local or can relocate to the area.

Responsibilities


  • Document, configure, administer, and automate provisioning of infrastructure and application deployments both on-prem (OpenShift) and in the cloud (Azure).

  • Track and monitor resource usage and associated costs.

  • Automate the monitoring of application performance and service availability.

  • Drive technical innovation and efficiency with automation in both the cloud and on-prem VM environments.

  • Manage and troubleshoot day-to-day systems administration of Windows/Linux infrastructure.

  • Work on projects to increase security, reliability, redundancy, maintainability, and scalability. Participate in operations, monitoring, service recovery, load, and performance testing/tuning.

  • Work closely with the development team to configure, document, troubleshoot and improve the supporting infrastructure and services (both cloud on on-prem) leveraged by the application itself as well as the software development lifecycle.

  • Create automated solutions for application build, test, scan, deploy, and monitor.

  • Assist with production performance, defect, and security investigations as needed.

  • Coordinate with IT Operations to deploy and maintain security updates and patching.

  • Review results of automated scans and advise Development on areas to remedy.

Required skills and Experience



  • Bachelor Degree in an Information Technology Discipline

  • Minimum of 4 years of general DevOps and/or IT System Administration experience. This is to include the following:


    • 1+ years of professional experience with DevOps in an Azure-based SaaS environment

    • 1+ years of professional experience with Git and one of the common Git server products (Bitbucket, GitHub, etc.)

    • 1+ years of professional experience with infrastructure provisioning/configuration management tools. Preferably Terraform but Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc. are also acceptable.


  • 4 years of professional experience in a Linux environment

  • 2+ years of professional experience with CI/CD


Desired skills and Experience


  • Deep understanding of modern web architectures and cloud platforms.

  • Good communication and reasoning skills, including the ability to make a strong case for technology choices and processes.

  • Experience supporting common open-source application stacks.

  • Proficiency in writing scripts for maintenance and automation in a variety of languages.

  • Familiarity with Terr grunt a plus.

  • Experience with application performance and service availability monitoring.

  • Familiarity with JIRA/Confluence or equivalent tools.

  • Must be comfortable supporting high volume production systems with strict uptime SLAs.

  • Experience with TFS, Jenkins, Artifactory, OpenShift, and Azure Kubernetes Service are all a plus.
