Southeastern Steel Construction Seeking Superintendent for Fabrication Shop / Field Steel Erection
The function of the Fabrication/ Field Superintendent is to respond to Request for Proposal's (RFP's), assist to estimate projects and direct, monitor and manage all phases of awarded projects. This will include coordinating with the Customers Operations Manager, Field Superintendent to assemble project teams, scheduling the contract work, preparing and monitoring project budgets. Actively participate in identifying sales opportunities with existing clients and new potential clients. Interface with clients, negotiate and purchase subcontractor services and assist with submission of payment invoices, attend client meetings, keep clients apprised of budget and scheduling issues, identify, assist with submitting and processing change orders prior to budget exhaustion. 5-10 years experience preferred in steel fabrication and miscellaneous metals
Technical Skills/Abilities:
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be multi-tasking, highly motivated, goal oriented and able to perform management and control functions required to successfully manage several projects and client relationships simultaneously.
Duties:
Reading and understanding blue prints/drawings and specifications.
Performing material take-offs and pricing.
Performing labor calculations.
Subcontractor and supplier proposal review and valuations.
Assist with preparing and submitting proposals.
Attend pre-bid and pre-award meetings.
Assist with all facets of awarded projects (shop drawings, purchase orders, scheduling all contracts and deadlines).
Assess potential jobs including, Field measurements and logistics.
Ability to supervise others to perform task to be completed with good speed of execution while maintaining quality workmanship.
Position and secure various types and sizes of steel parts and components to be welded onto subassemblies or assemblies, according to drawings, specifications and instructions.
Make basic layouts and mark weld point on parts or assemblies in order to establish reference points.
Examine work pieces for defects, measure work pieces to ensure conformance with specifications.
Analyze drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, develop material list, to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
Additional Requirements:
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Pass a 50 state background check
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
AutoCad or other engineering software experience is a plus.
