Description:
The Application Architect position will work across the IBM Services Brands investigating new ideas (Discovery) and defining solution approaches documenting User Stories and supporting artifacts in advance of squad engagement. IBM Services is investing both in Analytics and Cognitive enablement to be at the forefront within the Industry. This role is on the front line working with key business stakeholders to understand the business and translate needs into solutions. The Architect will typically work on Epic sized requirements which could either be significant new capabilities, integration opportunities, or other larger scoped items. Part of the role will be developing and implementing the scaling of Agile across the sub-domain.
· Develop standard architecture deliverables: Key Context, Sequence, Flow, Component and other diagrams
· Key interests include: business architecture and strategy, application architecture, design patterns, etc.
· Negotiate to define approaches and goals.
Analyze impact of proposed solutions across the business to develop Epic, Feature, Story details· Demonstrated organization and communication skills, especially with management and executives
· Strong work ethic, and strong eagerness to learn.
· Develop working relationships with business and technical members of the team
· Utilize multiple approaches to facilitate Discovery: Modeling, Lean, Agile, Design Thinking, etc.
· Focus on the elements required to manage all aspects of business requirements through logical and physical design.

Requirements:
5 years’ experience in Application Architect roles.
Demonstrated experience in Agile & Agile at Scale methods and practices
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Superior Communications skills
Must be fully vaccinated

Preferred Requirements:
Industry experience in IT Services (Consulting, Infrastructure Services, Technical Support)
Experience with industry architecture practices (TOGAF, etc.)

Project Duration: 1 year +

Location: Raleigh, NC must be local or relocate. No T&L paid

Start Date: ASAP
