AECOM is seeking an Environmental Scientist I to support soil and groundwater investigations and remediation projects in accordance with Comprehensive Environmental Response, compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, various NCDEQ Division of Waste Management Programs and other regulatory programs.The selected candidate will conduct field tasks, including site investigations, drilling oversight, soil and groundwater sample collection, and related work. The candidate may also provide office support for data management, report preparation, and maintain the required AECOM-related documentation and forms.In this role, the selected applicant will be responsible for working on investigation and remediation projects while managing AECOM staff, subcontractors, technical delivery, stakeholder engagement/communication, and financial management.The job responsibilities for the position will include but are not limited to:Conducting environmental field work, including collecting soil, groundwater, and remediation system data, soil logging, groundwater sampling, fluid level gauging, and oversight of field surveys, drilling, well installation, development operations, and utility clearance for intrusive operations.Field document preparation, field data collection, processing, and interpretation.Supporting office tasks, including data analysis and report preparation.Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
