Workload: 40-50 hours per week

Overview
We seek a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Manager to join our team at Dashi and support our Ramen Shop and Izakaya (bar). This role is pivotal in ensuring smooth daily operations, maintaining exceptional service standards, and upholding our commitment to quality.
The Assistant Manager’s (AM) responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Providing support to the Executive Chef/General Manager in all aspects of restaurant operations
All front-of-the-house (FOH) operations: the first-floor Ramen Shop, the second-story Izakaya (bar), and the to-go service
Assuring consistency and excellence in the delivery of food and beverages to all guests at Dashi
Overseeing the bar program, ensuring strong bar knowledge, and assisting in controlling beverage costs
Completing monthly bar inventory, maintaining appropriate inventory levels, and rotating products following the FIFO system
Maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the bar area
Managing the creation of cocktails that align with Dashi’s identity, incorporating innovative ways to utilize vintage menu items
Assisting in liquor and grocery pickups as needed
Fielding omakase inquiries and training service staff on menu offerings
Scheduling FOH staff and recording daily sales and tips data
Onboarding new FOH team members
Training and oversight of FOH staff in creating a professional and positive work environment and overseeing food and beverage-related education and development
Updating printed menus and Micros POS
Upholding and enforcing Dashi’s service standards, fostering an excellent guest experience
Completing administrative tasks on time, including FOH ordering and updating training materials for all FOH positions
Communicating clearly and concisely with Executive Chef, Sous Chef, plus Server Leads via Homebase, Teams, phone, and/or email

Job Requirements:
2-5 years’ experience managing in a full-service restaurant
Intermediate experience with Micros 3700 POS
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Strong attention to detail and the ability to take initiative
Ability to work 40-50 hours per week, including weekends, some holidays, and flexible day/evening shifts
Proven bar knowledge and experience in overseeing beverage programs
Intermediate knowledge of liquor, beer, and wine
Basic understanding of Japanese food and beverage
Personal vehicle
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
