Responsibilities: Monitor multiple online sports wagering platforms related to marketing, finance and internal controls through back-office access to ensure compliance with rules related to wagering transactions, types of wagers, and other wagering data. Read, understand, and compare the North Carolina State Lottery Commission’s Rules with the Licensee’s Internal Controls. Utilize test accounts to determine compliance with technological requirements and regulatory waiver deadlines. Assist with implementing formal risk-based audit plan.Monitor operators’ reporting to ensure unusual or suspicious activity is reported and that integrity monitoring providers comply with laws and regulations.Review and evaluate information received from integrity monitoring providers, geolocation reports, and other industry resources to provide insights and recommendations.Assist with compiling data and metrics for monthly and quarterly reports and updates of the department to the Commission (i.e., audit data, patron complaints, petitions for event catalog additions, incidents, and investigations).Audit/review tax filings and compare with monthly statistical reports to confirm tax monies collected from sports betting operations are accurate.Develop statistical reports, charts and graphs to identify trends in the sports betting industry.Log incidents or irregularities in electronic systems, and prepare reports, correspondence, or recommendations related to incidents and irregularities for review by the Compliance Manager.Document Standard Operating Procedures, instructional guides, process overviews, and other departmental resources. Draft administrative action documents, work with the department’s attorney in drafting the documents, and present the administrative action to the licensee. Monitor licensee’s implementation or corrective action plan and conduct follow-up.Based on information obtained and discussions with the Compliance Manager, develop preliminary audit findings and recommendations. All findings and recommendations must be approved by the Compliance Manager prior to finalization. Requirements: Excellent analytical skillsAttention to detailAble to work with confidential information and exercise sound judgment.Proficient in MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePointStrong technical proficiency. Experience setting up access and monitoring external data, navigating apps, reporting, audit functions and data analysis.Experience with incident tracker software, JIRA or similar project tracking tools and applications preferred.Experience with database and reporting software preferred.Two to five years’ experience related to compliance review, audit functions, preparing reports, data analysis and evaluation in a heavily regulated industry e.g. gaming, healthcare, insurance or finance.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience This position is eligible for part-time telework. Must reside in North Carolina.
