Help Wanted: Part-Time In-House Mechanic (Evenings)

Experience with commercial trucks preferred (FedEx fleet)
We are looking for a reliable and skilled Part-Time In-House Mechanic to perform maintenance and repairs on our FedEx delivery trucks. This is a steady part-time evening position ideal for someone with experience working on commercial vehicles.
Position Details:
Hours: 20–25 hours per week
Schedule: Evening shifts (flexible start time)
Location: Durham, NC
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections on FedEx delivery trucks (step vans & box trucks)
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and brake issues
Maintain accurate service logs and inspection records
Ensure repairs meet safety and performance standards
Keep work area clean and organized
Requirements:
Experience working on commercial trucks (FedEx, UPS, or similar a plus)
Knowledge of diesel and gas engines, brake systems, electrical systems
Ability to work independently in the evenings
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Tools Required:
Basic hand tools (wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.)
Torque wrench
Jack and jack stands
Power tools (impact wrench, drill)
Multimeter for electrical diagnosis
Diagnostic scanner (preferred)
Flashlight or work light
Tool storage (preferred)
Some shop tools may be available, but your own tool set is strongly preferred.
