The Safety Supervisor will monitor new associate orientation and ramp-in process, assist with on-the-job training including Job Safety Analyses, and communicate company rules and regulations and safety walkthrough findings pertaining to safety, hazardous communication, and ergonomics. They will also be responsible for tracking safety findings and corrective actions through service requests and managing OSL positions.Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provide on-the-job training and follow-up on hazardous communication, safety, ergonomics, and other subjects with associates in all Processing Departments. This includes new associate orientation (whether directly hired or through a temp agency) as well as Job Safety Analysis (JSA) paperwork, which is ongoing.
Conduct daily JSA audits and report findings to Safety and Ops teams along with corrective actions and re-training that is needed.
Assist Safety Manager in interviewing associates and gathering information on accidents and near misses.
Attend bi-weekly safety meetings, PSM meetings or any other safety-related meetings that occur.
Assist the Safety Manager in responding to associates needs and concerns for safety issues as they arise.
Assist the Safety Manager by taking & posting meeting notes for the Safety Committee meetings.
Maintain oversight and training for OSL positions on Day and Night Shift.
Assist in Corp Safety Audit and Paperwork documentation.
Maintain Oversight for Housekeeping Group.
Other duties as deemed necessary by the Safety Manager or Corp Safety.
Minimum Education
Bachelor of Science preferred but combination of degree & experience considered.
Experience Requirements
3-5 years of relevant experience.
Strong communication, math, organizational and analytical skills.
Strong supervisory and interpersonal skills.
Experience PreferredEnvironmental Factors and Physical RequirementsNormal climate controlled office environment. Able to communicate on the telephone and use standard office equipment.
