Provide remedial and supplemental training to associates to assist them in learning proper job functions, safe work habits, rotation procedures and appropriate food safety measures.Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Introduce new/all associates to their jobs, including basic training; rotation procedures; safe work habits.
Review performance with new/all associates and give advice on how to improve it. Advice on strengths and weaknesses.
Monitor the progress of new associates and report to supervisor daily. Collect and document production/efficiency rates for each new hire. Retrain associates when needed.
Submit documentation of all new hire evaluation forms to the Supervisor.
Reinforce evaluation procedures, clock-in and clock-out procedures. Facilitate incorporation of associate into work team.
Discuss with all new employees all safety requirements, including PPE (personal protective equipment), prevention and reporting of unsafe acts and conditions, lockout/tagout procedures, and safety issue management process of the facilities.
Conduct one-on-ones to discuss new hires training progress.
Address any Food Safety, QA or USDA questions with all new hires.
Provide a safe work environment for associates.
Any other duties assigned by supervision.
Participate in New Associate Engagement activities.
Minimum EducationHigh School or equivalent not required but beneficial.Experience Preferred
Must be able to work unsupervised
Learn food safety and USDA standards
Have at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must have poultry experience.
Must be able to meet requirements for bending and lifting.
Must be able to work in a humid environment with temperatures ranging from 45 to 65°C.
Environmental Factors and Physical RequirementsWhen in a plant environment:Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.May be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm.Able to stand for several hours.Work may include lifting (up to 50 lbs), reaching, bending, pushing boxes on conveyor assembly.Perdue Farms, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
