Job Description
RK Electric LLC is seeking a versatile Mechanic/Electrician to maintain our fleet vehicles, trailers, and job-site equipment (e.g., generators, threaders, benders, lifts) and to assist field crews with non-licensed electrical tasks under the supervision of a Journeyman.
This position ensures our tools and equipment are reliable and projects remain productive and safe.
This position is located in Bismarck, ND. Relocation is not provided.

Responsibilities of the Mechanic/Electrician:
Inspect, diagnose, and repair company trucks, trailers, small engines, generators, and electrical tools/equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance schedules; keep accurate service and parts records.
Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues on equipment and lifts.
Coordinate parts ordering and vendor repairs; manage inventory of critical spares.
Assist field crews with material handling, conduit bending, wire pulling, device/fixture installation, and clean-up.
Follow RK Electric safety procedures and OSHA guidelines; maintain a clean and organized shop.
Support emergency or after-hours repairs as needed to minimize downtime.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements of the Mechanic/Electrician:
High School diploma or GED (required).
2+ years of experience as an automotive/diesel/small engine mechanic (preferred).
Working knowledge of electrical tools/equipment and job-site safety; ability to assist on electrical tasks under supervision.
Proficiency with diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and recordkeeping.
Welding/fabrication skills (preferred); ability to safely operate lifts and shop equipment.
Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record (MVR will be reviewed); CDL and/or DOT medical card a plus.
Ability to pass a background check.
