This is an open position with the FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [SC00]

The Manager, Supply Chain Operational Buyer will lead the operational buying team that supports Category Specialists with tactical purchases. This position manages a team of buyers focused on efficiently and effectively managing the requisition to purchase order process. The Manager evaluates and monitors performance of team thought established metrics and strives to drive operational efficiency to expedite the req to PO process. This position works closely with stakeholders including Category Managers and Business Units to develop effective procurement planning, and execution plans.

The position will be located in either Akron, OH or Greensburg, PA with a mobile designation.

Responsibilities include:

Leading the Operational Buying team to create and process a high volume of standard purchase orders (POs), outline agreements, framework orders, and change orders in line with best practices/policies

Managing the Operational Buying team and coordinating with the Category Managers to effectively support category specialists.

Leveraging technology, analytics, and tools to drive efficiencies and sourcing savings for operational purchases

Ensure utilization of strategic sourcing strategy to drive TCO Savings for operational spend

Developing strong relationships with suppliers through the supplier performance management and sourcing process

Coordinating planning efforts to optimize the Operational Buying team

Monitoring and expediting the req to purchase order process

Identify and implement efficiencies into the operational buying process

Identify operational purchases that should be included in category plans and coordinate implementation with Category Specialists

Qualifications include:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, business, engineering or related discipline is preferred and a minimum of 7 years' relevant work experience is required.

In lieu of degree, a minimum of 10 years' relevant work experience is required. Relevant work experience includes experience in Supply Chain, project management, budget management, strategic sourcing, or vegetation management.

Minimum of 2 years' supervisory experience is preferred.

Strong strategic and analytical skills.

Demonstrated ability to solve long-term and analytical problems.

Demonstrated understanding of Coupa.

Extensive negotiation skills and best practices in contracting.

Strong project management skills and ability to plan and manage numerous people, processes, and resources.

Excellent written and oral communication skills. Results-oriented.

Ability to understand and follow procurement procedures, adapting to new policies and changes
