The Design Engineer for Construction Attachments develops and maintains products, processes, and works directly with customers to solve field problems. This is a fast-paced position requiring technical contribution, working with minimum supervision, continually improving standard work and the engineering processes; solid mechanical engineering skills and an understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and computer aided engineering. Provides engineering and specifications to develop and release fabricated products that meet customer requirements that are manufactured in various ESCO facilities as well as being sourced from suppliers.

Job Duties:

• Work with customers and ESCO Sales personnel to identify design criteria for best in class products which meet and exceed customer expectations

• Manage and maintain system database parameters for mass production products and daily customer orders

• Develop fabricated products that meet customer and manufacturing requirements

• Work with manufacturing teams and/or suppliers to ensure products meet quality requirements and are completed on time and on budget

• Work with manufacturing to improve quality and reduce costs of existing product

• Manage technical time-frames and workflow of internal and external resources

• Utilize standard development processes and standard work

• Identify and implement opportunities for continuous process improvement

• Design first article manufacturing trials, lab testing, and field trials

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering

• Two+ years' related engineering experience

• CAD modeling skills; ideally with Siemens NX

• Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

• Willing and able to travel up to 15% (domestic and international)

• Must be authorized to permanently work in the United States

Prefer previous design engineering experience (design of steel fabricated products ideal); understanding of materials and processes related to steel manufacturing, castings, wear resistant composites, welding, cutting, forming, and assembly; and experience using Oracle and Agile.

The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in fast paced production environment; have effective communication, presentation skills, problem solving, project management, and organizational skills; work effectively in a diverse global team; and able to independently, managing and measuring workload.

Other: Work environment is primarily engineering office setting. Must be able to work up to 10% in industrial job site environment. Physical demands require mobility within a manufacturing/processing environment with heavy/fast moving equipment, wearing personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety boots).
