Associate degree or equivalent experience (2-5 years in the steel industry; 1-3 years in quality)

Experience working in a manufacturing plant (specifically steel industry)

Someone who is able to stand, lift items (up to 50lbs), and be in a warm environment for long periods of time

Experience with the following items:

Telephone

Computer

Calipers

Ultrasonic Gauge

Digital Rockwell Tester

Analog Rockwell Tester

Micrometer

Hand Tools

Band Saw

Router

Belt Sander

Tensile Tester ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Compliance with all safety rules for personnel and facility protection as defined in

the Plant Employee Manual.

May train Lab Technician and review test results.

May train Supervisors and Slitter Operators to identify steel defects.

Trains affected employees in the use of measuring equipment.

Maintains calibrations on lab test equipment.

Makes decisions on the conformance of products to customer specifications

during in-process inspections.

Works with Sales, Purchasing, Production, and Customers on an "in-house"

team to resolve problems as needed.

Works with Purchasing and Production Planning on material problems and

possible choices of material for a specific job as needed.

Conduct internal ISO audits as needed.

Performs testing on production jobs as needed.

Maintains laboratory equipment and supplies.

Verifies that jobs meet customer requirements.

Assist Quality Management for projects related to research and development,

production technology, and quality control.

Maintain and control quality documents.

Oversee RMA & MRB customer communication and processing. Assist with inspections surveillance, Final inspections, source inspections as required. Oversee review of equipment re-qualifications, monthly calibrations and maintenance of fabrication documentation. Escalate Quality issues to management. Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma Good understanding of Regulatory & Quality requirement and standard protocols, e.g. Boeing Standard Wiring Practices and IPC-620. Enjoys the challenges of working projects that vary greatly and have distinct potential to require significant changes or alterations in mid-stream, remaining flexible and adaptable. Ability to interact with and maintain external relationships with customers and internal relationships within all departments at L2. Required Skills and Abilities: Two or more years of Quality support experience.
