Founded in 1837, Cuyahoga County’s safety-net health system operates four hospitals, four emergency departments and more than 20 health centers.Summary:Performs health functions (including vaccinations, health screenings, and associated testing) and patient care duties for employees under the direction of physician and/or nurse practitioner and nurse manager in the MetroHealth Employee Health Clinic (EHC) sites of care. Performs clerical/reception/registration duties. Manages provider/employee health clinic templates and clinic dates. Tracks clinic statistics and runs reports. Assists with employee outreach to promote the Employee Health Clinic services. Assists with coordination of multi-disciplinary learning activities.Qualifications:Required:
High school diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program, a School of Practical Nursing, or equivalent military training.
Six months of medical assisting experience (externships included).
One year of recent medically based clerical experience that includes front-end operations (recent is defined as within the last 6 months).
Demonstrated competence and experience using Microsoft Office software products; Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Experience in collecting data from various software systems.
Knowledge of basic medical procedures and medical terminology.
Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills with patients and other constituents.
Must demonstrate good judgment, flexibility, initiative, and the ability to problem-solve.
Ability to embrace change and adapt to quickly evolving situations.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to establish and cultivate productive and positive working relationships with a wide range of partners, including MetroHealth staff, external clients, and community constituents.
Organized and detail-oriented.
Able to work a flexible schedule including occasional evenings or weekends.
Reliable transportation to travel to multiple MetroHealth facilities and other locations as needed.
BLS Certification from the AHA or obtains within 90 days of hire.
Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.Preferred:
One-year medical assisting experience (externships included).
Two years of relevant work experience and/or education.
Fluency in writing, speaking, and interpreting both English and Spanish.Physical Demands:
