OVERVIEW
The Maintenance Technician repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment; gear and sprocket drives, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, loading systems, production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.
PAY RATE
The pay range for this position is $26-36/hour and will be determined based on the selected candidate\'s experience.

3rd shift (10:30pm - 7:00am)

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs routine facility maintenance as assigned.
Performs PM tasks as assigned
Observes and troubleshoots mechanical devices in operation byadjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments, as well as repairing/replacing defective parts.
Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
Responsible for aiding in startup process to ensure equipment is operating correctly.
Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
Contains a strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to assist in resolving issues and fostering Continuous Improvement.
All other duties as assigned
WORK EXPERIENCES
1-3 years maintenance experience required, preferably within a food manufacturing facility
3-5 years maintenance experience preferred, preferably within a food manufacturing facility
Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in manufacturing.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
Associate\'s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Description
POSITION OBJECTIVE
Coordinate the maintenance of all parking facilities to ensure the safety of the university community and provide a clean, attractive, and user-friendly environment. Effectively supervise the activities of the Case Western University and LAZ Parking maintenance staff to ensure maximum productivity and compliance with the parking maintenance contract specifications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Supervise the activities of the parking partner/vendor maintenance staff to ensure maximum productivity and compliance with the parking maintenance contract specifications. (15%)
Maintenance of lights in all lots and parking structures, changing bulbs and ballasts while conducting lighting and door surveys to ensure timely maintenance. (10%)
Pressure wash and power sweep parking surfaces, clean catch basins, line stripe, stencil work, and painting guard rails and curbs. (10%)
Repair and maintain parking surfaces and signs including asphalt and concrete surfaces. (10%)
Maintain and repair mechanical gate arms, gate boxes, doors, and locks to prevent malfunctions. (10%)
Order/make and install/remove special event signs, and open/close lots to accommodate special events. (10%)
Respond to emergency situations such as, but not limited to snow removal, floods, gasoline/oil spills, tripping hazards, broken glass, and dead animals. (10%)
Use safety equipment and follow all safety procedures as required. (10%)
Perform minor maintenance repairs on parking vehicles while working with outside repair shops. Wash vehicles to maintain professional appearance. (10%)
NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist other departments and contractors as needed and perform other work-related functions as assigned. (5%)
CONTACTS
Department: Occasional contact with maintenance and security staff members when responding to emergencies.
University: Daily contact with faculty and staff parking occupants.
External: Daily contact with staff of Standard Parking and any visitor parking occupants.
Students: Daily contact with student parking occupants.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position will supervise the activities of the Standard Parking maintenance staff (non-Case employees) to ensure they meet the parking maintenance contract specifications.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: 5 years of parking maintenance experience, contract coordination and general maintenance experience.
Education: High school education
REQUIRED SKILLS
Must have, or be prepared, to receive basic AHERA safety training.
Experienced in properly using basic hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment.
Valid Ohio drivers license, free from significant violations.
Ability to be contacted by telephone and respond to emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week within a half hour of the emergency arising.
Ability to frequently lift up to 100 pounds.
Ability to operate heavy equipment such as, but not limited to, street sweeper, tractor, bobcat, snowplow.
Customer service oriented with regard to all faculty, students, other staff, and visitors of the university.
Work well independently or as a team.
Technical proficiency in maintaining mechanical equipment and indoor/outdoor lighting fixtures.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Indoor and outdoor work in all weather conditions, including very hot and freezing temperatures, rain and snow. Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, stretching, climbing, reaching, standing, walking. May also require extended hours and/or weekends.

Job Description
POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Animal Husbandry Technician is a member of the Animal Resource Center (ARC) animal husbandry team. The animal husbandry technician is responsible for the day-to-day care of research animals according to established protocols and in compliance with applicable regulations. This position will maintain the health and well-being of research animals and monitor animals to identify health-related problems, dietary needs, overcrowding and cage conditions. The husbandry technician is primarily responsible for identifying and documenting conditions that adversely affect the health of the animals. This documentation provides researchers and veterinary personnel with critical information to ensure that research progresses without interruptions caused by disease, damaged equipment and overcrowded conditions. The husbandry technician also has the primary responsibility of administering special diets, assuring animals have adequate water and food and administering any other special needs.
Animal Resource Center staff members are responsible for maintaining the health and well-being of the university\'s research animals; and therefore, play a vital role in supporting the School of Medicine\'s research efforts. Animal husbandry technicians and all other Animal Resource Center staff must enjoy working with and caring for animals and appreciate the value of animals in research. The university\'s animal facilities are accredited by the Association for the Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) and is managed according to the \"Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals\" appropriate Federal Animal Welfare Regulations, and the Public Health Service \"Policy on the Humane Care and Use of Laboratory Animals.\" This position, and all animal research personnel, are subject to internal compliance to ARC standard operating procedures and to compliance regulations of the Animal Welfare Act, Public Health Service Policy, AAALAC guidelines, the State of Ohio Veterinary Practice Act, Federal Drug Enforcement Administration regulatory guidelines, US Food and Drug Administration Center for Veterinary Medicine regulations and other applicable regulatory guidelines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Feed and water animals, change cage bedding, change animals from dirty to clean cages and disinfect animal quarters. Observe animals during this process and note and report anything unusual that may indicate problems with the animals such as health related problems, housing/caging, overcrowded conditions, food or water problems. (34%)
Inspect animals in assigned area daily and reports abnormalities to animal husbandry manager, team leader and/or veterinary staff. (10%)
Use a handheld or stationary tablet device to perform animal health observations, animal inventory and daily checklist in a data software application. (10%)
Perform routine housekeeping duties to maintain animal rooms. Clean and keep areas neat and free of clutter per United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) guides (counters, sinks, carts, etc.). (8%)
Remove dead animals from cages, tag and label with identifying data, prepare death certificates, and place in post-mortem refrigerator and notify responsible veterinarian. (6%)
Assist research investigators and attending veterinarians in handling, manipulation and treatment of animals within the Animal Resource Center. Following specific instructions, administer medication or experimental materials to animals. (6%)
Maintain compliance to ARC policies and all applicable regulations for animal research care and attend training as required. (6%)
