Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)

Benefits eligible.

Position starts at $19.387 an hour, plus $1.75 shift differential for nights and $1.75 for weekends.

Pay to commensurate with relevant experience.

Responsible for performing basic supportive, Trauma Informed care to specified patients/families under the direction and supervision of an RN/Care Manager. Responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention and assistance with activities of daily living. Collects, documents, and reports data to the RN Care Manager but does not interpret data. Demonstrates competence in providing age-appropriate, Trauma Informed care and service for pediatric patients.

Responsibilities

Clinical:

1. Participates with the interdisciplinary team in specialized patient care activities.

a. Provides encouragement support and reinforces positive behavior with a therapeutic, calm approach while maintaining therapeutic boundaries, setting limits, and utilizing de-escalation techniques, including physical intervention skills.

b. Demonstrates ability to identify and record relevant information for the most common diagnostic groups including:

i. Major Depression (with and without psychotic features).

ii. Bipolar Affective Disorder (including manic, depressed and mixed episode).

iii. Psychotic Disorder (Including Schizophrenia & Subtypes)

iv. Attention Deficit and Disruptive Behavior Disorders.

v. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

vi. Autism Spectrum Disorders.

vii. Intermittent Explosive Disorder.

c. Effectively establishes therapeutic relationships with patients and families on the unit.

d. Utilizes Trauma Informed Care philosophies when interacting with patients and families.

e. Leads, or co-leads and/or reinforces teaching of symptom management, including relaxation techniques, anger management, therapeutic goal-setting, problem solving, coping skills, etc.

f. Assists with Admission & Discharge Process as directed by unit RN. Completes unit/room orientation; reinforces information given

Responsibilities Demonstrates competencies defined () in Employee Health Nurse Responsibilities in providing age-appropriate care to young adult and adult patients. 1. Conducts employment health assessments, annual TB surveillance testing, immunization administration, and other routine screenings and nursing care ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies and NWCHI policies. 2. Makes initial assessment of employees who report for service. a. Provides first aid and appropriate nursing interventions based upon assessments and protocols. b. Dispenses over-the-counter medications as needed under nursing protocol. c. Provides immunizations, TB testing, medications for prophylaxis based upon protocols/MD orders. d. If further treatment is needed, refers to Employee Health physician, personal physician, Urgent Care Center, Adult Emergency Department, Staff Assistance Services, etc. e. Involves employee in plan of care. 3. Maintains employee health records on all employees, including immunization and TB surveillance testing records. Enters data into Employee Health data base, STIX. 4. Consults and advises regarding immunization records on affiliating student nurses and any other designated affiliating students or contracted companies to comply with Infection Control policies. 5. Performs pre-employment, or for-cause drug screening, as necessary, maintaining confidentiality and adherence to the chain of custody protocol. Reports positive results to the Medical Review Officer physician for follow up. 6. Collaborates with the Department of Epidemiology and department manager in the treatment and follow up of employees with work related exposures to infectious agents and contagious diseases. Consults with the Employee Health Physician, or Medical Director, Epidemiology regarding specific infectious diseases. Makes referrals for counseling regarding infectious disease exposures
