Responsibilities
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Performs research experiments independently or semi-independently in accordance with protocols approved by the principal investigator. Such experiments may involve the use of laboratory animals or human subjects any may require evening and/or weekend duties.
2. Prepares and tests substrate, conducts assays, and prepares tissue cultures for use in research studies, as applicable. Molecular work including Western blot, RT-PCR and immunocytochemistry as needed. Such activities may be performed independently and may require evening and weekend hours.
3. Ensures accuracy of laboratory analytical procedures as required by specific research projects.
4. Collects and controls experimental data and patient information; and maintains accurate daily logs of experiments including methods, results, and conclusions.
5. Interprets the results of data analyses with input from the principal investigator.
6. Assists the principal investigator in the preparation of scientific publications and grant proposals.
7. Make recommendations about refinement and/or replacement of laboratory analytical procedures. Implements such refinements or new procedures with input from the principal investigator.
8. Orders supplies needed to conduct research; maintains inventory of equipment and supplies; and assures that research equipment is in good working order.
9. Collaborates in the preparation of research budgets, and monitors expenditure of funds to assure that studies are conducted within budgetary constraints.
10. Instructs other laboratory workers and students in standard methods, practices, procedures, and equipment operations.
11. Maintains a clean working area and performs general laboratory maintenance. Adheres to proper safety techniques and procedures.
12. Performs miscellaneous related duties.

Responsibilities
Coordinates initial and ongoing development of education programs.
Recommends new programs and technology based on evaluation and needs assessment.
Participates in the development of an annual plan for community education that is consistent with strategic priorities.
Collaborates with Marketing, community partners, hospital and physician leaders, coordinators and program committee to increase the visibility of Nationwide Children\'s Hospital\'s education programs.
Maintains up-to-date information on the Web.
Coordinates formative and summative evaluation of education programs.
Aggregates data for trend analysis. Assists in implementation and tracking of improvements.
Manages files and databases to assure complete and accurate records.
Ensures reports are accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
Maintains reporting and regulatory initiatives as assigned.
Manages meeting planning.
Recommends and administers operations and expenses for assigned cost centers.
Participates in ongoing professional development activities.
Qualifications
Education Requirement:
College degree or equivalent experience, required.
Licensure Requirement:
Valid Ohio driver\'s license and proof of auto insurance as required by hospital policy.
Must pass motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications, and training set forth by Nationwide Children\'s Hospital and maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.
Certifications:
For Graduate Medical Education positions only
Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education (TAGME) certification is required within three years of start for candidates without a college degree.
Skills:
Proficiency in MS Office.
Excellent oral and written communication.
Strong command of the English language, grammar and spelling.
