Senior Secure Spaces Interior Designer

AECOM is seeking a Senior Secure Spaces Interior Designer to help shape highly secure, technically sophisticated environments for Federal and mission‑critical clients. In this role, you will focus on the planning and interior design of classified spaces where precision, compliance, and operational performance are essential.This position may be based in Denver, Chicago, Houston, San Francisco, San Diego, Sacramento, Los Angeles, Seattle, Columbus, or Cleveland, with flexibility for other AECOM locations.You will play a key role in the design and delivery of classified interiors, including SCIFs, SAPFs, secure communications centers, and high‑security workplace environments. As an emerging subject matter expert, you will also contribute specialized knowledge that strengthens AECOM’s secure interiors practice.What You’ll DoSecure Interior Design & PlanningSupport the interior design of secure and classified environments, ensuring compliance with ICD‑705, DoD standards, and client‑specific requirementsDevelop detailed interior design deliverables—including space plans, elevations, details, and specifications—that balance security, functionality, and design qualityParticipate in and contribute to secure design reviews and client meetingsTechnical Coordination & IntegrationCollaborate with Accrediting Officials and project teams in support of Construction Surveillance Plans (CSPs)Coordinate with architects, engineers, and specialty consultants to integrate access control, intrusion detection, acoustical protection, and RF shieldingSupport technical planning related to acoustical separation, TEMPEST considerations, and secure zoningCollaboration & Design LeadershipWork closely with multidisciplinary teams to integrate secure planning principles across architecture, interiors, engineering, and technology systemsEngage Federal clients and stakeholders to understand mission needs and translate them into compliant interior solutionsContribute thought leadership that advances secure interior design standards across the firmWhat Sets You ApartStrong understanding of secure facility users, missions, and interior building typologiesExcellence in programming, space planning, and stakeholder communicationProven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary systems, utilities, and FF&E in classified environmentsWorking knowledge of secure networks, access control concepts, and security zoningSolid familiarity with ICD‑705 and TEMPEST fundamentals and their impact on interior planning
