Exciting news from the Clintonville Woman's Club!
We are seeking a skilled and reliable cook to assist the chef in preparing high-quality meals for events. The cook will work closely with the chef to ensure that all dishes are prepared according to standards and served in a timely manner. This is a part-time position based on event schedules, with the opportunity to gain experience in a fast-paced, professional kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the chef with food preparation and cooking, ensuring all dishes are prepared to specifications.
- Follow recipes and presentation guidelines as directed by the chef.
- Prepare ingredients for cooking (e.g., chopping vegetables, cutting meat, prepping sauces).
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace, adhering to all sanitation and food safety protocols.
- Ensure that food is stored properly and inventory is managed, informing the chef of low stock.
- Assist with plating and presentation of food during events.
- Help with cleaning kitchen equipment, dishes, and utensils after use.
- Work with the chef to ensure meals are served on time.
- Assist in setting up and breaking down food stations for events.
- Be available to help with other tasks as needed during busy events.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a cook or kitchen assistant preferred however not required. You do want to have a passion though for food!
- Ability to follow instructions and collaborate well with the chef and other team members.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
- Food handler’s certification is a plus.
