Position Summary
The Fab Shop Welder will be responsible for day-to-day welding and fabrication within a shop environment, focusing on pipe and metal assembly projects. This position requires the ability to interpret blueprints, work independently or as part of a team, and maintain high standards of safety, quality, and craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform all welding tasks related to shop fabrication and pipe assembly.
· Assist with layout, fit-up, and alignment of materials according to blueprints and project specifications.
· Follow all company and OSHA safety standards, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
· Inspect and maintain welding equipment to ensure proper function and reliability.
· Work closely with supervisors and other trades to meet project deadlines and production goals.
· Support a culture of teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
· Minimum of 1 year of welding experience (GMAW/MIG preferred).
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
· Working knowledge of pipefitting, plumbing systems, and general mechanical layout is a plus.
· Proficient with hand tools, grinders, torches, and other shop equipment.
· Capable of producing high-quality welds within precise limits and production standards.
· Must be able to pass a GMAW (MIG) pipe weld test.
· High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training preferred.
· Valid driver’s license required.
