Job Description SummaryThe Lead Buying Specialist will support multiple commodities across GE Aviation Supply Chain. In this role, you will manage requisitions, place purchase orders, and take on aspects of quote management. In addition to these responsibilities, you will help to train and coach Buying Specialists on the team. The role will also include process improvement initiatives within the central buying team.Job DescriptionEssential Responsibilities
Supports and executes sourcing tasks and operations as required.
Reviews existing standard work and procedures. Identify opportunity and provide feedback for improvement.
Provides guidance and training to new team members.
Exhibits strong understanding of procurement processes and systems to effectively execute sourcing operations.
Reviews existing standard work and procedures, then identifies opportunities and initiates improvements.
Impacts projects, processes, and procedures within the procurement function
Utilizes expertise and judgement to solve problems. Leverages skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
Responsibility for key performance indicator metrics related to specific processes.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Commercial Operations, Sourcing/Procurement, Supplier Relationship Management, Sales, Supply Chain or Contract Management roles)
Minimum of 4 years' experience in Commercial Operations, Sourcing/Procurement, Supplier Relationship Management, Sales, Supply Chain or Contract Management roles
Desired Characteristics
Experience with Impact or Oracle a plus
Experience in Aerospace or Automotive Buying/Procurement a plus
Ability to coach and train others
