As an RN - ED you will assess, plan, perform, document, and evaluate professional independent nursing practice at Lakeview Hospital; to provide work direction for and oversight of the nursing care provided by unlicensed personnel; to perform and document functions such as carrying out the provider's medical orders; to assist providers with diagnostic and treatment procedures; to provide a safe and therapeutic environment; to coordinate, communicate, interpret, and explain patient care services to the patient, his/her family, health professionals and important others; to perform related duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Nights. 7pm-7am with an every third weekend rotation. Required Qualifications: Associate Degree in Nursing Registered nurses re-entering the nursing field, who have not completed 520 hours of nursing practice in the past four (4) years must successfully complete a recognized refresher course to qualify for employment. Written information of certification validating successful completion of a refresher course must be provided before employment. ACLS certification required from AHA PALS / ENPC certification required upon completion of orientation (or within six months of start date) TNCC certification required within one year of start date if not present at hire Licensed as a RN by Minnesota Board of Nursing or has a Wisconsin RN License and Minnesota Boarder State Registry. Current BLS - American Heart Association or BLS - American Red Cross (CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer & Health Care Provider) Must have strong organizational, multi-tasking, and communication skills with a customer-service orientation. Ability to provide an exceptional patient experience utilizing strong customer service skills Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing. Ability to effectively participate on an interdisciplinary treatment team. Ability to collaborate, develop and maintain effective working relationships with patients, family members, and co-workers. Knowledge of basic computer skills, or the ability to achieve computer competency within 3 months. Knowledge of current nursing practices and techniques. Knowledge of chemistry, math, pharmacology, disease processes, anatomy, and all body systems. Knowledge of emergency procedures and medical intervention techniques. Knowledge of infection control practices and their relation to patient care outcomes. Ability to recognize changes in patient's condition or body systems. Ability to critically think clinical situations and intervene appropriately. Skilled in using basic patient care related equipment and supplies. Ability to set priorities and manage time effectively. Ability to provide individualized care and respond to a variety of patient/family preferences. Preferred Qualifications: Baccalaureate or Master's degree in Nursing Associate Degree prepared nurses enrolled in Baccalaureate in Nursing program Specialty Certification in the RN's area of expertise (e.g. CCRN, PCCN, CNOR, CPAN, CAPA, etc) Preferred: two (2) years of previous acute care experience (may consider previous EMT or Paramedic experience), previous Emergency or Critical Care Experience Benefits: Lakeview Hospital offers a competitive benefits package (.5 FTE or greater) that includes medical insurance, dental insurance, 401k with match, disability insurance, and tuition reimbursement.
