We are a successful Design-Build General Contractor serving the Tulsa area for nearly 45 years and are currently seeking experienced Construction Project Superintendents to help with our backlog. Successful candidate should have a minimum of 5-7 years of commercial/industrial construction supervisory experience, including supervisory experience of all trade types and finishes.
Successful candidate should have experience as a Project Superintendent from the startup of a project, to punch list and turnover. Must work well within strict deadlines, be able to work both independently and with a team, and possess outstanding organizational, written and oral communication skills.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Become thoroughly familiar with the plans, specifications and contract requirements for each project assigned.
2. Plan the work, monitor the schedule and record actual progress of all activities on a daily basis. Responsible for maintaining job schedule and completing jobs on time.
3. Reviews the job payment schedules with Project Manager. Advise Project Manager of completion of work events to facilitate payments.
4. Review all Purchase Orders and Subcontracts on jobs you are responsible for. Responsible for assisting in making recommendations for purchases of materials and equipment and supervising labor within estimate.
5. Responsible for efficient employment of job labor to assure minimum of labor costs. Assures adequate supervision is given to job labor.
6. Ensure that safe working conditions exist on the job site in compliance with appropriate governmental safety standards and that the Company safety program and policies are enforced.
7. Completes daily and weekly Superintendent reports.
8. Investigates and recommends improvements in work methods and materials. Ensures that the work meets Company quality standards and specifications.
9. Provides the information required for accurate and timely submittal of schedule updates.
10. Responsible for maintaining positive relations with Owners, Consultants, Engineers and others related to the job, to assure good communications and rapport.
11. Responsible for establishing and maintaining equitable and businesslike relationships between the Company and its Subcontractors and Suppliers and assuring their performance.
Qualifications
1. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in commercial/industrial construction as a Supervisor or Superintendent.
2. Leadership experience in directing a project team to a successful outcome.
3. Computer literate.
4. Must work well within strict deadlines, working both independently and with a project team.
5. Possess outstanding communication and organizational skills.
6. Be able to negotiate issues with trades for a successful outcome in the field.
7. Be self-motivated and self-reliant.
