We are searching for a fast, friendly, hard-working/likes to work individual to join us at our coffee shop, Palate: a coffee bar. We have 20 -25 hours available, which is 3-4 days/week. PLEASE READ BELOW!
We are a couple that has worked in the specialty coffee industry for a combined 30+ years. We love coffee and our goal is to continue to learn more about it; we expect the same from our employees.
We want to be clear about our expectations of our work family:
Enjoys interacting with the public
Must communicate well with customers and co-workers
Dependable and honest
Confident and humble
Can handle money comfortably: i.e. count back change
Multitask: I.e. can take orders, set-up drinks properly, while carrying on a conversation with a customer
Stay calm and have fun under pressure: i.e. rushes and rigorous training
Interested in COFFEE
Can take constructive criticism: i.e. we communicate with one another if we think the coffee is not tasting as good as it could or if a milk needs to be re-steamed, because it was not done properly
Must taste espresso often and be willing to try milk: i.e. to ensure milk was done properly
Self manage: i.e. consistently gets the right things done without being asked
Commit to many hours of training on the bar
Keeps a tidy work environment
Must obtain a food handler’s card
