Position Overview
The Ranch Hand reports directly to the Facilities Manager. This position performs work related to the day- to-day operations and maintenance of PMRCAA. The Ranch Hand is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean environment for the entire property, including buildings, homes, barns, greenhouse and other Ranch and Foundation structures. In addition, this position works closely with the agricultural program performing duties aligned with regenerative agricultural and forest practices.
Duties:
Regular maintenance, repair, and cleaning of PMRCAA facilities and equipment.
Assist with operation and maintenance of all irrigation equipment: including pumps, pivots, wheel lines, hand lines, big guns and individual irrigation lines and systems throughout the property.
Groundskeeping & landscaping including mowing, planting, pruning, weeding, and raking.
Load and unload bulk materials using heavy equipment and trailers.
Fence repair
Operate and maintain tools and equipment in an acceptable manner as directed by Facilities Manager.
Pasture work, such as planting and dragging.
Tree felling, firewood cutting.
Work with cattle and other livestock.
Maintain vehicles, equipment, and tools.
Pickup and disposal of all debris, litter and clutter left on grounds and in and around buildings.
Instructing or aiding visiting guests in competency with tools; welder, plasma cutter, chop saw as directed.
Additional duties as assigned – this is a multi-faceted environment and priorities, and work focus are dynamic and varied.
