DESCRIPTIONAbout the Position The Community Health Centers of Lane County is a rapidly expanding division of Health & Human Services. If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a talented and passionate team!The Associate/Assistant Medical Director position will support providers and lead the creation, implementation, and ongoing assessment of medical policies for our primary care teams. This position works collaboratively throughout the organization to ensure the adoption of standards and policies for the functional aspects of clinical services, fostering excellent patient care. The Associate/Assistant Medical Director (AMD) will be part of a team of AMD's responsible for individual sites or practice areas and report to the Medical Director. AMD's serve in a player/coach model, working in direct patient care, as well as administrative leadership at the site, with dedicated administrative time. In addition, the AMD will collaborate with the Medical Director and the senior management team to establish and implement evidence-based practice standards.Other duties include the following:

Participation in the provider peer review process.

Collaboration with the management team in oversight of clinical policies, quality initiatives, and procedure development.

Serve as the site lead for the Medical Home Model.

Provide regular progress reports to the management team on clinical and quality initiatives.

Provide consultation and risk management assessment on matters that may impact patient care or the CHC.

Recommend changes in all clinical areas, and/or in general areas. to improve patient flow, medical records, care quality, and appointment practices.

Become familiar with Federal and State rules, regulations, and practices required to operate a Community Health Center.

About the Division

The Community Health Centers have been providing quality primary care and behavioral health services to the citizens of Lane County since 2004. We provide a broad array of services to adults and children in an outpatient setting. The CHC’s are a primary source of health care for uninsured and underinsured individuals. Our clinics are Federally Qualified Health Centers whose mission is to serve the community by offering excellent care and eliminating barriers to healthcare.Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 5:00pm.This is an AFSCME Nurses represented positionQUALIFICATIONSTraining and Experience:

Master's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university, and completion of a Nurse Practitioner program specific to the expanded specialty role/category for which application is made.

The scope of practice of a Nurse Practitioner is incorporated into nine different specialty categories which include: Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP); Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM); College Health Nurse Practitioner (CHNP); Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP); Geriatric Nurse Practitioner (GNP); Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP); Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP); Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP); and Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner (WHCNP).

Two years of clinical practice experience.

OR

Master’s Degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university with major coursework in primary care program for physician assistants.

One year of responsible licensed physician Assistant experience.

Two years of clinical practice experience.

An equivalent combination of experience and training that will demonstrate the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.

Licensing Requirements :

Must possess State of Oregon Registered Nurse Practitioner License OR State of Oregon license as a Physician Assistant, at the time of appointment.

Must possess a current certificate to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Oregon, in the specified specialty role/category.

Special Requirements:

Certificate granting full prescription authority.

Drug Enforcement Agency Certificate.

National Provider Identifier (NPI).

Certification from a recognized national certification body.

CPR/BLS.
