Location / Division Specific Information

This position will be located at the Eugene, Oregon location supporting the Manufacturing / Operations group in the BioSciences Division of Thermo Fisher Scientific.

The product portfolio is part of the Protein and Cellular Analysis Business Unit.

How will you make an impact?

Leading the Eugene New Product Introduction (NPI) and the Custom Products and Services Project Management teams in Manufacturing / Operations while providing direction and guidance for product and manufacturing process development and transfer of new and custom products using project management best practices.

This individual will ensure all stakeholders within the organization are properly represented and that all product infrastructure and processes are defined, documented, verified, and managed while reducing manufacturing and operations risk at each phase of the transfer process.

Sustain superior customer service levels with internal and external customers and build critical relationships within Operations, Commercial, and R&D teams.

What will you do?

Develops, proposes and helps implement improvement plans for capacity, processes and technologies.

Attend technical transfer / operations readiness meetings to ensure that speed and success of implementation is in-line with site capabilities and capacity.

Regularly engage with manufacturing partners to manage the full length of the product lifecycle, including design changes and discontinuations

Partners with Sales and Licensing and Commercial Supply teams to drive business strategy and execution for our customers

Tracks quality performance trends and keeps Corrective Action Preventative Action (CAPA) actions on track

Presents team updates upward in site leadership meetings and management reviews and outward during site wide manufacturing town halls

As a member of the manufacturing leadership team you will be an active participant ensuring the team perspective is heard and provide regular input.

Selects, develops and evaluates staff to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Works with and advises

staff on administrative policies and procedures

Manage a small number of projects and / or critical customer activities as capacity allows.

This individual will have a demonstrated ability to attract, engage, develop, and retain top talent all levels, creating a culture of ownership and collaboration with other functions inside and outside the organization.

In addition, this individual will help drive projects and team initiatives with the proper sense of urgency to ensure customer, team, and business objectives are met.

How will you get here?

Education :

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or other science-related field and / or equivalent experience in a Chemical or Biological manufacturing environment

Experience :

Minimum seven years of experience in biological or chemical Manufacturing / Operations environment with relevant technical knowledge

Demonstrated experience in a people management role

Demonstrated project management leadership skills

Demonstrated experience in product development transfers into the manufacturing environment

Demonstrated experience partnering with the commercial organization.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Exceptional Good Manufacturing Practices knowledge

Strong leadership and conflict resolution skills

Ability to balance the conflicting goals, responsibilities, and priorities of the organization

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to motivate and lead

Working knowledge of MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Share point).

Ability to work cross-functionally in a highly matrixed organization
