Position Summary:
As a Line Cook/Chef, you will be responsible for preparing meals and setting up kitchen stations in accordance with our menu. You’ll assist with daily kitchen operations and ensure food is prepared safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Your work will directly support our mission and enhance the experience of those we serve.
Responsibilities
Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
Answer, report and follow all operational instructions
Clean up station and take care of leftover food
Stock inventory appropriately
Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Perform other duties as may be required based on business needs
Skills & Experience:
Solid restaurant experience: 3 years (Required)
Ability to think and adapt quickly
Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook
Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
Familiar with industry's best practices
Job Type:
Part-time (less than 40 hours a week) Currently, we need someone for Tuesday evenings, Wednesday Day/Evening (Split shift), Friday evening. Some Tuesday’s lunches and Saturday evenings depending on scheduled events.
Pay:
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
