CNC Machinist/Programmer

CNC Machinist:

Shift: Days, M - F

Hours: 8 am to 4:30 pm (with occasional OT)

Tumac, Inc. (CNC machine shop, located in Lowell, OR) is hiring experienced CNC Machininsts. We are hiring either CNC Lathe and/or CNC Mill machinists with experience in both setup and operation. Experience with Mazak and Mazak controls (M32, T32, Fusion, Matrix, Smooth G).

Daily Duties:

Plans machining by studying work orders, prints, drawings, specifications or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.

Set up and operate CNC machine to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed data.

Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machines as necessary to machine parts as required.

Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning and facing; taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, adjusting and reprogramming controls, sharpening and replacing worn tools.

Verifies conformance of finished work-piece to specifications, using measuring and inspection tools as necessary.

Performs routine maintenance tasks on machines as required and troubleshoots machine malfunctions.

Confers with others to resolve machining or assembly problems.

Uses ERP software to accurately communicate and document manufacturing process.

Required:

Excellent measuring skills, ability to read prints and make adjustments.

Strong math skills and grasp of mathematical concepts such as plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Attention to detail and quality control.

Ability to work independently with a quality conscious mindset

Must be able to work standing for 8-10 hours a day and be willing to work occasional overtime.

Must be able to lift 50 lbs. regularly and move heavier items with assistance.

Ability to safely operate a hoist.

Forklift operating experience.

Education:

Associate's Degree from two-year college or technical school; or 2-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
