Title: Wireless Development Engineer
Location: Hillsboro, OR (hybrid 40%)
Duration: Full-time / Direct Hire
Pay Range: Between $100,000 to $160,000 per year - may vary based on experience Candidates must have US citizenship or permanent work authorization due to government requirement Our client, a leader in Test and Measuring instruments for wireless communications has an immediate need for a highly motivated Wireless Development Engineer to join their team. This is a small, cross-functional team in a great location that is very collaborative with close personal interactions. The selected individual will work with a highly qualified team of engineers, located both locally and abroad.Your tasks

  • Develop embedded C real-time protocol stack firmware and internal control firmware for digital wireless communication applications
  • Design, develop and maintain Python based tests for new functionality and support external test teams
  • Participate in and contribute to our agile development processes, planning, refining, retrospective and review
  • Analyze user requirements and technical aspects of new functionality
  • Contribute to software design of new product functionality
  • Track work item progress and keep status updates current
  • Study and develop expert understanding of wireless communication technical standards, including 802.11 and 3GPP
  • Support and collaborate with peers and with management in local team and remote locations
  • Support customers and investigate reported software defects
  • Provide software and hardware support and maintenance of our test system
  • Support product qualification and approval processes
  • Contribute to the pursuit of continuous development quality and efficiency improvements
  • Provide mentoring and support to others, in areas of expertise
Your Qualifications
  • B.S in Computer Science and/or Engineering with extensive software knowledge
  • C, Python
  • Software development project and process experience
  • IDE experience i.e. VS Studio/Code, PyCharm
  • SCM experience i.e. Git
  • Continuous integration concepts
Preferred
  • Wireless communications
  • RF test equipment, cabling, connections and operation
  • Experience working with complex software systems and distributed teams
  • Familiarity with common operating systems, networking tools and protocols such as Linux, Windows, WSL, SSH, RDT, IPERF, Ping, TCP, UDP
