Utility Billing Services Specialist

The City of Medford is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join us as a Utility Billing Services Specialist within the Finance Department. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in our daily operations, conducting comprehensive analytical reviews of customer accounts, executing billing tasks, and overseeing the collection of overdue city utility accounts.

Required Education and Experience:

Graduation from high school or GED equivalent; and

Two (2) years of clerical, accounting, billing, or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

One (1) or more years of billing and/or accounting experience.

One (1) or more years of customer service experience

Available Schedules:

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Opportunity for alternate schedule after the first 90-days:

9-80 (nine hour work days with a three-day weekend every other week)

Teleworking up to 1 day per week

The anticipated hiring range for the Utility Billing Services Specialist position is $23.15 (first step) to $24.31 or $25.53 (second or third step). Directly related experience and qualifications will be evaluated alongside others who perform work of comparable character as required by Pay Equity Law. Six steps are included in this salary range, allowing opportunity for annual movement through the steps.
