Winery & Catering Chef

We are seeking a highly organized and creative person to manage our catering food services. The Catering/Chef responsibilities will include welcoming and connecting with guests, food preparation and presentation, maintaining inventory, and ensuring that the kitchen meets sanitation standards.

To be successful in this role, you should have a personable demeanor, a passion for customer service, as well as good networking and financial management skills. Understanding of wine and food pairings is required.

Hours: This is a part-time, very flexible position. The position really works when there is a catered event and possibly any incidental internal needs for Chef work.

Responsibilities:

Enjoy working with and pleasing our customers and guests.

Effectively communicate with all guests and staff in a friendly, courteous and timely manner.

Assist in development of menus and pairings.

Organize and coordinate event meal timelines, ensuring that the service runs smoothly and efficiently.

Process and prepare food orders on time.

Maintain inventory of food and kitchen supplies.

Assisting management with food and decor budget, while managing finances/expenses.

Maintain high personal grooming standards and professional demeanor.

Requirements:

High school diploma.

A Bachelor's or Associate's degree in hospitality, culinary arts or related field preferred.

Prior experience in food service or hospitality industry required. Prefer pastry chef experience.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Financial and/or business management skills. Ability to achieve revenue goals, control expenses and sell/promote food to customers. Report and ensure expense accuracy.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Professional appearance.

Organized and punctual.

Menu development with potential customers.

Work with Event Coordinator on pricing and planning catered winery events with customers based on the established company guidelines.

Ensure quality services and operations by building trustful and positive relationships with customers and co-workers.

Maintain accurate and complete sales operational and transaction records.

Answer customer queries in accurate and timely manner.

Prioritize sales tasks based on revenue goals and deadlines.

Interact with customers to get feedback on products and services offered

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 36 per week

Business Management: 1 year (Preferred)

Food Service: 3 years (Preferred)

Hospitality: 1 year (Preferred)

Wine: 3 years (Preferred)

Education:

Associate (Preferred)
