The Bay House at Salishan restaurant in Gleneden Beach, 3 miles south of Lincoln City, has an opening for a professional Pantry Chef/Garde Manger. Responsibilities include production and presentation of pantry items, appetizers, and desserts. The successful candidate will possess a passion for food, a dedication to the highest quality standards, and the ability to create and execute world-class cuisine. Though formal culinary education and experience is preferred, we are prepared to train a candidate with outstanding passion and attitude. The single-most important qualification is the ability to work within a very small, dedicated team in a positive, fun, and professional environment. This position will be full-time, full responsibility.

Since 1979, The Bay House has endeavored to be the best restaurant on the Oregon Coast, and as serious as we are about what we do, we are a wonderfully good-humored bunch having way more fun than we deserve. We have a well-known, long-established local, regional, and national reputation, and we are fortunate to have amassed a small but amazing staff from top to bottom. Likewise, we are blessed with a long-term, loyal, and dedicated clientele, many of whom have been incredibly supportive of our efforts for years or generations. Since 2015, AAA has recognized us with a 4-Diamond Restaurant Award, one of only 3 in Oregon (along with The Painted Lady in Newberg and Mas in Ashland). We boast the largest wine list in the state with nearly 2400 labels. In our current configuration, we have only 15 tables, and we are the only full-service dinner restaurant at this 200-room resort.

After 41 years in our original location, our property was sold in 2020, and we re-opened inside Salishan Coastal Lodge in Gleneden Beach, 3 miles south of Lincoln City. We serve dinner 5 nights per week, are closed Mondays and Tuesdays year-round, and close each year for 3 weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas. In addition, we operate a retail wine shop, and we renovated and reactivated the once world-famous wine cellar.
