Job Description:

The Billing Representative reports to the Billing & Claims Manager, and will work with the Billing Supervisor to validate insurance information and/or out-of-pocket costs for upcoming appointments, and to validate patient chart information for patient and insurance billing. Will also assist with patient retention efforts and provide support to the Front Office such as answering phones, processing dental insurance estimates, and will incorporate other incidental and/or assigned tasks on an as-needed basis, as determined by the Billing & Claims Manager and the practice.

Job Requirements:

2 or more years of billing experience, or dental/ medical office experience, is preferred. Experience with Dentrix is also a plus. This position requires the employee be able to select, access, and use necessary information, data, and communications-related technologies, such as basic personal computer applications, telecommunications equipment, internet, electronic calculators, voice mail, email, fax, and copying equipment to accomplish work activities. The employee may be regularly required to sit for long periods, must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and must meet the following minimum requirements;

Must have Highschool diploma or G.E.D.

Demonstrate the ability to learn and understand dental terminology.

Have a basic understanding of records management, both physical and digital.

Have the ability to understand and comply with policies and procedures associated with a dental practice.

Understand and comply with HIPAA.

Understand and comply with the HI-TECH Act of 2009.

Compensation:

Starting wage is $12.00-to-$14.00 per hour, based on experience, plus a monthly bonus which is effective immediately. Health coverage, dental coverage, and 401k are available after probationary periods have been met.

Raises are based on performance and may be available after probationary period and/or at annual performance reviews.
