WHAT WE NEED:
The Staff Accountant role is a full-time, non-exempt position in our Accounting Department. The hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm with an hour for lunch. Overtime may be necessary, especially around deadlines and peak times of the year.
A candidate who will answer the phone promptly, with a smile and a warm, friendly voice, to let them know you are there to help solve their problem; keeping your cool when the homeowner is agitated
Inquisitive nature, willingness to learn, and ability to make mistakes and learn from them
Successful completion of the interview process and pre-employment requirements. CMI participates in E-Verify and is an equal opportunity employer
A high school diploma is required, post-secondary education preferred
Three or more years related experience
Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures preferred
Experience with electronic filing in a document management solution preferred
Qualified candidates will possess basic office skills, working knowledge of MS Outlook, MS Word, and strong MS Excel skills, plus excellent organizational and time management skills
Quick and accurate keyboard strokes of a minimum of 60 WPM and 10-key speed of 8000 k/h with 100% accuracy – we would be impressed if you exceeded this
Experience maintaining accounting records for multiple clients/entities – strong organizational skills needed and ability to quickly maneuver through tasks while keeping it all straight in a fast-paced environment
Printing and reviewing crucial reports for accuracy, strong analytical skills with attention for details.
Successful experience with administrative support – mailing, filing, etc. as needed
Candidates must supply 3 professional references supporting their abilities in these areas.
