Job Description
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a vital role in delivering precise and valuable information to our partner clients. You will be instrumental in developing processes, training team members, executing high-level accounting tasks, ensuring quality control and evaluating our tech stack for continuous improvement. You will have the opportunity to advance into a future managerial role within our prosperous tax & accounting firm, playing a critical part in our growth and reaping the fruits of your labor.
On a daily basis, you will:
Set up and run payroll. Record detailed payroll transactions from third-party payroll provider reports.
Prepare and submit sales tax reports and monitor client sales tax exposure.
Manage client communication
Methodical cleanup of new client’s books.
Recording transactions with correct coding and classes, including detailed splits.
Reconcile all bank, credit card and loan accounts each month.
Create complex journal entries.
Manage transactions from eCommerce sales channels and payment processors to ensure they are properly recorded in accounting records.
Ensure books are tax-ready at end of year.
Communicate with IRS and state departments of revenue to assist in resolving issues.
Collaborate on SOPs and tasks. Prepare Loom videos to train both team and clients.
Preferred Requirements
In-depth knowledge of accounting, payroll, and sales tax.
Experience with practice management software.
Accounting degree is strongly preferred.
Ability to meet deadlines and coordinate with the team.
Thorough knowledge of accounting with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
QuickBooks Online Advanced ProAdvisor Certification required within 30 days of hire.
Passion for precision and meticulous attention to detail, with an ability to spot and solve errors independently.

Candidates must be based in the United States, and available during working hours in the pacific time zone.
Must be able to follow consistent firm procedures.
Experience creating cash flow forecasting, and monitoring client KPIs is a plus.
Previous exposure to tax work is a plus
CPA or EA license is a plus.
This contract position will initially require a twenty-five-hour+ per week commitment. We expect this position will eventually become full-time and may provide an opportunity to move towards a position as a full-time employee.
