Bullivant Houser has an opening for a full-time Payroll Administrator to join our Portland Office. This team-oriented position is responsible for the preparation and processing of bi-weekly and bonus payroll for a multi-state firm. This role also includes processing garnishments and levies, process and audit retirement plan contribution export files, review and ensure the accuracy of approved timesheets, reconciliation of monthly and quarterly tax reports, and preparation of a variety of payroll and financial reports.

This position is a strong teammate to our HR & Benefits Administrator and will provide regular assistance and serve as her back-up in the area of employee benefits. Responsibilities range from updating the HRIS system, processing monthly benefit bills, and assisting employees to resolve issues relating to our benefit programs.

Skills required include effective and positive communication, exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, critical thinking, problem solving, and strong time management skills. Successful candidates will possess professionalism, flexibility, reliability, exceptional customer service, initiative, and enjoy working both independently and in a team.

In addition, the ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

1. 3+ years’ payroll and HRIS experience, legal environment and ADP experience preferred

2. Knowledge of processing full-cycle payroll, including payroll tax and accounting laws

3. Strong financial reporting skills required

4. General knowledge of benefits

5. Advanced computer skills in Excel / report writing capabilities
