Powell’s Books, the world’s largest independent bookstore, has openings for part-time & full-time regular Generalist positions at our flagship City of Books store in downtown Portland.
The generalist positions are part of a team involved in a wide variety of tasks, including:
Customer service
Cashiering
Merchandising and section maintenance
Shelving
Inventory management
The successful candidates will have a strong and demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service, adaptability and flexibility, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrated experience ensuring accuracy in their work, and an attention to detail.

Schedule: The schedules are to be determined, but will be regular and consistent, and include one or both weekend days. Shifts may fall between 7am and 9pm.
Starting pay: The starting wage for these positions is $15.95 per hour, with a wage increase to $17.00 effective the first day of the pay period following the 31st calendar day from hire.
