The Bridge City Montessori School community are trail blazers in building equitable education for Deaf, Hard of Hearing and hearing children. We use English and American Sign Language in the classrooms to create an accessible learning environment. Our program is growing and we are excited to share that we are providing more support and resources to families!
A large part of our curriculum is world studies where we celebrate what makes us unique and different and encourage representation. We discuss and respect family and foreign cultures as well as each family’s journey.
Don’t know ASL? We have in-house ASL classes and start with the vocabulary you need in the classroom. Excited to learn another language and culture? We also partner with a local Deaf owned business that will provide more ASL classes. Cost is covered by the school and goes towards your professional development.
Basics of Position:
Hours flexible - can discuss at interview
Both Part time or Full Time available
Assist Lead Teacher in the classroom
Lead outdoor games with students
Present fun activities and crafts with students
Holidays and Quarterly Breaks
ASL Fluency is a plus!
Montessori experience is a plus!
