Hours: In-person (5 to 20 hours per week, depending on availability and location preference). Hours are during the school day, 8AM to 3PM, Monday through Friday. Additional hours available possibly through other contracts (days and times vary).
Location: Gresham, NE, and SE Portland; in person only.
Requirements:
-Master of Arts in Teaching or Education preferred; a Masters degree in another related field will be considered
-Bachelors or Arts or Science will be considered, with relevant teaching or experience in education.
-Must be able to pass Criminal Background Check

Job Description:
-K through 8th Grade ELA and/or Math. One on one and some small group sessions.
-Provide individualized instruction to disadvantaged students to improve academic performance.
-Create weekly lessons utilizing a variety of on-line tools to engage students academically.
-Teach students study skills and test-taking strategies.
-Work collaboratively with Education Manager and other tutors to ensure student success.
-Includes paid planning time, time for staff meetings, and paid professional development.
Specific job skills:
-Culturally competent practice; willing to engage in conversations about race.
-Ability to inspire and motivate students who have historically struggled academically.
-Ability to develop one-on-one relationships with students from diverse backgrounds
