Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Account Manager in Portland, Maine. This role primarily falls within the commercial and personal insurance industry and embraces a hybrid work schedule after an initial 6-month period. The Account Manager will be responsible for maintaining professional relationships with clients, processing policy amendments, and handling new business and policy renewal marketing. Responsibilities: Foster professional relationships between clients, the agency, and company underwriters. Accurately review and process mail using established procedures and personnel support. Handle daily telephone calls and requests for ID cards, Binders, BOR, cancellations, and reinstatements. Execute policy amendments as required. Manage new business and policy renewal marketing, including preparation of applications, rating, and forwarding to designated companies. Communicate with insured or prospective clients regarding application status and coverage details. Prepare new business or renewal proposals as necessary. Relay quotes to customers about policies, costs, consequences, and obligations. Document client activity and keep records for necessary follow-up. Review and process invoices to clients. Collaborate with the Accounting Department on insureds’ billing and account current issues. Requirements Proficiency in Commercial Insurance is mandatory Experience with Personal Insurance is necessary Demonstrable ability to Prepare Proposals Proficient in Policy Administration Skilled in Scheduling for effective time management Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong customer service orientation Ability to work in a team and foster positive relationships Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Solid problem-solving abilities Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Proven track record in meeting sales targets and KPIs Demonstrable negotiation and closing skills Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively Experience in a similar role would be advantageous Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field is preferred.
