Description We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in Portland, Maine. This role is situated in the telecom industry and involves a high level of interaction with Accounting Software Systems and a high volume of email response. The candidate will be working in a hybrid workplace environment, maintaining a balance between office and remote work. Responsibilities: Manage the processing of approximately 250 invoices per week, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of each transaction. Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure all financial data aligns and any discrepancies are addressed promptly. Utilize Accounting Software Systems and Microsoft Excel for data entry and invoice coding tasks. Maintain a high level of responsiveness to incoming emails, addressing inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner. Manage the use of Avid Exchange for efficient invoice processing and payment. Adhere to and improve accounts payable processes and procedures to enhance productivity and maintain control. Collaborate with the wider finance team and other departments to ensure smooth operation. Regularly update and maintain accurate records of all accounts payable data. Continually enhance skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Data Entry, and Coding Invoices. Assist in other ad-hoc tasks as needed within the finance department. Requirements Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is essential Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Excel Experience in Accounts Payable (AP) functions Proficient in Data Entry tasks Familiarity with Coding Invoices is required Relevant educational background or work experience in accounting or finance Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a team environment Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines Familiarity with basic office equipment and procedures Strong problem-solving skills Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information High level of integrity and professionalism.
