Description Robert Half is anticipating the need for a Patient Registration Clerk to support a well-known healthcare organization in Portland. This position will be focused on assisting with patient intake and registration through a high-volume of phone calls and electronic requests. This work is suitable for candidates who have experience supporting patients within healthcare organizations and bring working knowledge of electronic health record and/or medical record (EHR/EMR) system(s).Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Fielding patient calls in a timely manner
Actively listening to and empathizing with every patient
Assisting with general questions, updating patient demographic information and insurance information into electronic health record system (EHR), resolving issues and complaints, scheduling appointments, and processing co-payments on occasion
Process insurance prior-authorizations
Ad hoc project support as needed
Requirements
Prior experience supporting patient services or administration within healthcare field
Proven experience listening for customer cues and resolving concerns with grace and integrity
Comprehensive knowledge of basic computer skills, Microsoft office applications, and electronic health record and/or medical record system (EHR/EMR)
Expertise in patient advocacy, positive attitude and ability to provide long-standing and meaningful patient experiences
