Job Title: TechnicianJob Description-We are seeking a general labor technician to join our N. Portland yard.-This position involves material handling, connecting hoses from rail cars to trucks for transfers, cleaning up, and prepping carts and other components.-Ideal candidates are mechanically inclined, have prior experience working outside in all weather conditions, and can be trained to set up and take down-Candidates must be comfortable with lifting, climbing, and using hand tools for opening valves.-A significant portion of the day involves inspecting different mechanical components before they leave the yard.Responsibilities

Handle materials and connect hoses from rail cars to trucks for transfers.

Clean up and prep carts and other components.

Set up and take down hoses for transfers.

Inspect mechanical components prior to them leaving the yard.

Operate hand tools to open valves.

Work outside in all weather conditions.

Essential Skills

General labor experience

Mechanical assembly skills

Forklift operation

Experience in labor, assembly, production, construction

Material handling and maintenance skills

Attention to detail

Ability to follow directions without supervision

Safety-first mentality

Experience with hand tools, power tools, and preventive maintenance

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Clean driving record (for potential truck movement after contract period)

Forklift certification

HAZWOPER training and safety training
