Company Overview: Join our dynamic bicycle tour company based in Portland, Oregon. We’re dedicated to providing unique cycling experiences in the city of Portland and to the scenic wonders of Oregon. We are seeking a Seasonal Bicycle Tour Guide and Rental Associate who will be responsible for renting bikes at our retail location in Portland, leading half-day tours in the city, with the potential for guiding multi-day tours to destinations in the Columbia Gorge, Crater Lake, The Oregon Coast, and Bend.

Position Overview: As a seasonal Bicycle Tour Guide and Rental Associate, you will be a versatile team member contributing to the retail, rental, and tour operations for the tour experiences that we offer. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys customer interaction, has a passion for cycling, and thrives outdoors

Key Responsibilities:

Retail Operations: Assist customers in renting bikes, providing recommendations based on their preferences and skill levels.Conduct routine maintenance checks on rental bikes to ensure safety and functionality.

Process rental transactions and manage inventory.

Bicycle Tour Leadership: Lead engaging half-day tours in Portland, showcasing local attractions and landmarks.

Possibility to guide multi-day tours to destinations such as the Columbia Gorge, Crater Lake, The Oregon Coast, and Bend for the right candidate.

Customer Interaction: Provide excellent customer service, answering inquiries, and ensuring a positive experience for retail customers and tour participants. Offer assistance and guidance to participants during tours.

Safety and Equipment Management: Enforce safety protocols during tours and ensure participants are briefed on safety guidelines. Manage equipment, including rental bikes, to ensure they meet safety standards.

Local Knowledge and Commentary: Share interesting information about Portland and our other destinations during tours, combining historical, cultural, and geographical insights. Stay informed about current events and attractions in both Portland and our other tour destinations.

Logistics and Planning: Assist in planning and organizing tour logistics, including meal prep for our multi-day tours if applicable. Coordinate with support staff to ensure efficient tour operations.

Qualifications: Passion for cycling and a basic understanding of bicycle maintenance and an excitement to learn.

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Knowledge of Portland and the specified tour destinations.

Ability to handle retail transactions and manage inventory.

First Aid and CPR certification, Food Handlers certification, DOT Medical Physical, and OLCC service permit (or willingness to obtain in the hiring process).

Valid Driver's License and clean driving record required to be eligible for multi-day tours. Previous experience in retail or tour guiding is a plus.Willingness to work weekends and/or travel for work is a must

Compensation: $16.00-$18.00 per hour DOE + tips
