Tonkon Torp, a prominent, full-service firm in Portland, Oregon, is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Litigation Legal Assistant with at least three years of experience to join our busy Litigation Department immediately. Experience in Bankruptcy law is a plus.
Ideal candidates should possess excellent organizational and proofreading skills, be able to coordinate with support teams and administrative agencies, and enjoy detailed work in a busy, deadline-driven environment. Hybrid work may be available after the first 30 days of employment.

Typical duties may include:
Litigation administrative support including document preparation, case management, transcription, timekeeping, billing, calendar management, and maintaining confidential information.
Prepare, edit, and finalize documents for filing with state and federal courts and other parties/agencies in accordance with firm standards and applicable court rules.
Check in regularly with attorneys on project deadlines and prompt as needed.
Assign tasks to other departments and staff as appropriate. Follow up on status to ensure timely completion and communicate clearly with all team members on status.
Communicate with clients and other legal professionals in a professional and courteous manner, both verbally and in writing.
Assist other team members and attorneys as needed.
The ideal candidate possesses:
At least three years of experience as a litigation legal assistant supporting attorneys and paralegals. Experience with Bankruptcy and filing in Washington, California, or Texas is a plus.
Excellent organizational and project management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, solve problems, and take initiative with minimal supervision.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook, Adobe Acrobat (or similar), DocuSign, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with iManage or BigHand is a plus.
Excellent typing, grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with and provide excellent service to internal and external parties.
Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
